New game: Parallel Me, a college life sim with 19 endings
Live one semester of someone else's college life through her phone: ten-week runs, 19 endings, typed replies at key moments and a shared daily run.
Our third game is a different kind of evening: Parallel Me, a short life sim about one semester of someone else's college life, lived entirely through her phone.
One semester, ten weeks, about twenty minutes
Every run deals a new life: a family background, a major, ten talents to choose three from, and a goal for the semester. Then the weeks roll by. Messages from friends move the story along, one event card can turn the week upside down, and you decide how she spends her three action points: class, a part-time job, the gym, making videos, meeting someone, or simply resting.
At the end of each week it all adds up, and after final exams in week ten the semester ends with one of 19 endings and a short documentary card, written by AI from the choices you made.
The people around her
Her roommate Su Ran is keeping a secret. Her best friend Tang Guo asks the questions she would rather avoid. Her ex, Chen Yu, still texts at midnight. And Zhouzhou, the senior at the bubble tea shop, always seems to know what's going on.
At two moments in the story you can type your own reply instead of picking one; an AI reads it and the character answers in their own voice. Your text is not stored.
Play it again, differently
With eight goals (a ninth on the way), 36 talents, 29 memory cards and 20 titles, no two semesters go the same way. Finished runs earn points for a shop that unlocks new goals, a new family background, a performing arts major and more talents.
Every day there is also Today's Life: one shared run where every player starts from the same life; once enough people have played, you can see how your semester compares with everyone else's.
Good to know
Parallel Me is free, with no ads. It is a work of fiction for players aged 18 and over, and the in-game text is in Chinese. Runs save automatically, so you can stop and pick up again from the start of the current week.
